My father is trying to get into his fritzbox, the default password of 'admin' is not being accepted and he does not know what else it could be.How do we resolve this issue? Do 2degrees have the ability to remote into the router and reset it for him? I don't really want to do a factory reset as I wouldn't know how to get his landline working again etc.Suggestions?

Should I have to pay for static
I have had fiber with 2 degrees for around 12 months now without issue , last week my sons began complaining of being disconnected from game servers constantly on both PlayStation and Xbox . After testing and reboots we contacted 2degrees who have set us up on a static IP as a fault finding trial . The person assisting said if this fixed the issue then after the trial period we would be charged for the static if we wanted to keep it . It has now been around 4 hours without any issues .I dont believe I should have to pay extra for a service which should work and has worked for the last 12 months and previous to that with Spark without needing a static ip . Any thoughts ?

Sanity check: BYO modem
I'm on Bigpipe UFB and looking at switching to 2degrees. Current setup is that I'm using my own router that I like (TP-Link Archer C4000), not whatever Bigpipe would have supplied. Any reason not to keep doing this on 2D, rather than using their Fritzbox? (Also, less importantly, why do people (including ISPs and some Geekzoners) keep calling a router a modem? I suppose it's technically both?)

Fritz!Box 7490 - Two problems with Port Forward sharing [Please Help].
Hi there,Reason for port forward: I've been having disconnection issues/game problems and so game company agents have said it could be my ISP that's causing this problem... Trying to see if port forward helps. So I'm trying to open League of Legends ports on the Fritz!Box 7490 but am having two problems. The ports for League of Legends (as shown on their website https://support-leagueoflegends.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752664 ) - are: 5000 - 5500 UDP (League of Legends Game Client)8393 - 8400 TCP (Patcher and Maestro)2099 TCP (PVP.Net)5222 - 5223 TCP (PVP.Net)80 TCP (HTTP Connections)443 TCP (HTTPS Connections)8088 UDP and TCP (Spectator Mode)1st problem: I am unable to insert the first port "5000 - 5500 UDP (League of Legends Game Client)" into the Fritz Box port sharing as it keeps showing this message (photo attached): 2nd problem: For inserting the last League of Legends port "8088 UDP and TCP (Spectator Mode)" I am unable to insert it as it has BOTH/Double protocols of UDP and TCP. What should I do for this part?Look forward to hearing back from you guys with the help. Thanks a bunch.

Big latency increase after switching to 2Degrees
Hi there, I had been with MyRepublic for 3 years and had a good experience with them, but felt like I wanted to try someone different. And as 2degrees has a Christchurch based server, I thought I'd give them a go.I've just been switched over to them this morning and have got the connection up and running. Speedtest results were great, I can only test over wifi as my computer is too far away to use ethernet. But with 2D my speedtest results were Ping: 4, Download: 866mbps, Upload: 531mbps. Which is better for me than MyRepublic (17ping, 700down, 400up). My issue however is only when playing League of Legends. My in game ping when connecting to the Oceania Server, while on MyRepublic had always been 40-50ms. But after this switch today to 2Degrees it now sits at 205ms. I have never had this issue, and am not sure how to investigate the cause so am hoping someone here may be able to help me. I have done a tracert thing if that helps? Will 2degrees move POTS from the RGW to the ONT?
HiGot a customer where their home connection I need to replace the RGW with a firewall to connect a Site to Site VPN to their office, I know some RGW's support this but they also want UTM as well.So my question is, will they move POTS onto the ONT if requested, and if not, will they release SIP details? - I would have my customer call them directly but they are away for two weeks, and I know people on here will have the answer :)

Thinking about Switching from BigPipe to 2Degrees
After over a year of a disappointing experience with Bigpipe (this deserve an entirely new topic later on). Anyway, I'm thinking about sign up with 2Degrees.I don't need the Ultimate Unlimited (fibre broadband up to 900/400Mbps), at the moment. So, I would start with the fibre 100/20Mbps one.I would greatly appreciate if current 2Degrees' customers could share with me the PROs and CONs or what they like and/or dislike about their Fibre connection or services as a whole. One of the things I hated while being with Bigpipe was their support. They offer $10 off if you go for the bundle with mobile in a 12-month contract. So, I might leave Vodafone and as well. During the online request process, they ask "Have you got a promo code?". I don't have one. It would be nice if someone could send me a promo code via MP. Cheers

Intermittent Traffic Interruptions / Delays / Timeouts
Hey Guys,Is anyone else experiencing intermittent interruptions or delays to traffic today?I hesitate to call them 'outages', but we're experiencing periods of up to around 30 seconds where no traffic seems to be received or sent.I haven't been able to reliably capture these outages via any kind of diagnostics or logging as yet, but the symptoms are:- Browser tabs not loading- Messages not being sent- Streaming video pausingI'm on gig fibre and wired LAN and my connection is generally perfect.I also noticed that my IP is in the 100.69.x.x range... and 'whatismyip.com' says my IP is 163.47.x.x... I guess that means I'm now on CGNAT?Anyone seeing anything similar?Sam.

2Degrees "Trade-Up" pulled from 31st Jan 2020! Some confusion on Hardware for existing TU customers...
So 2Dg have pulled their Trade Up program permanently. For those of us on it before 31st Jan 2020, we still get to use it this time round but won't be able to re-sign on that basis again. One question I now have which wasn't clear to me from their new T&C:https://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/termsofuse/mobile/mobile-repayment-and-trade-up/trade-up-terms-and-conditions/ It says that the current new phones eligible to be upgraded to as part of the Trade Up program are as below:iPhone 11 ProiPhone XsiPhone Xs MaxiPhone XiPhone 8iPhone 8 PlusiPhone 7 PlusSamsung Galaxy Note9Samsung Galaxy S9Samsung Galaxy S9+Samsung Galaxy S8If the program is no longer active, will this list continue to evolve during the year as new phones are released, or is this now fixed to the above? As an owner of an S10+ I would be better off cancelling the monthly $10 now and accepting the loss on the money spent to date rather than reaching August this year and not being able to upgrade to a newer/better next-gen device to my current one!Anyone have any insight?

Am I on CG-NAT?
Hi, it seems like I have lost access to my home server (has been running flawlessly behind DDNS for years)What's the best way to check that the issue is in fact due to my home Fibre connection having been put on CG-NAT? Just wanted to find out before I hit up 2degrees about it.CheersNote: Yes, my internet connection does work and my home Cloud Cameras (Wyze and Arlo) still work. Just access to my various services is no longer working.Cheers

2Degree modems 2020
I've just been offered the Fritz!box 7530 for an ADSL connection. I assume this is standard for ADSL with another for fibre?Any feedback on the WiFi signal strength with the 7530, can't seem to find much online? My current modem is a TP Link TD-W9980. Reasonable WiFi performance, but getting a bit long in the tooth with no security updates.

2degrees broadband and mobile down - what should I use for backup?
Just back online after both mobile and broadband went down. Was down for 30-40 minutes. Has happened quite a few times recently.Must say it's disappointing that there are no network status messages on 2degrees Service StatusMy work demands that I am available online at all times, so loosing connection with both broadband and mobile is fairly critical.Really hasn't needed to think about it a redundant connection until recently, every time the broadband has gone down the mobile connection has gone down too, so obviously need a backup that is on another network, and a backup fibre connection is (hopefully) going to be overkill. Is Skinny prepaid or Spark prepaid the way to go to have a redundant mobile broadband backup?

Setting up 2degrees Home Phone Plus on a Spark HG659B
I just visited my neighbours who had fibre with Spark and have now moved to 2degrees. I had to configure their Spark HG659B to get the internet working - but we got there in the end. However, for the life of me I can't figure out how to get their home phone working properly. I'm not with 2degrees personally, but I gather they use VOIP for their phone as opposed to plugging into the ONT directly (a la Spark). I plugged their cordless phone into the router but it gives a broken dialtone (not the normal one), and calling any number results in getting a busy tone - and the phone doesn't ring at the other end.Am I doing this right? Is there some setting in the configuration I need to change, do I need to plug things in differently, or is this a provisioning error on 2degrees's end?Sorry if this is a dumb question but I have no idea how 2degrees do their setups. I did try searching on their page (and here too) but all I could find was generic pages about getting the internet going on a BYO device, and not much about getting the phone to work. Thanks in advance for any assistance :)

I have recently moved from Voda to 2D, and the main thing I missed was the Voda $7 roaming overseas. Now, I don't have to miss it anymore!Good work 2Degrees - Very happy with this. I assume it won't be long before they bring this to the consumer post pay accounts... $7 per day to use your plan's voice/sms/data in a heap of countries, plus free to do the same in Australia.

2 Degrees Call Diversion for Voicemail to Email
Hi guys - Literally just switched to 2 Degrees mobile from VF - So far smooth running and a happy customer. One thing that bugs me with traditional voicemail is I often ring people back without checking the voicemail if I'm on the phone when I ring. Then eventually you get a voicemail you DO want to hear you have to wade through all the others first. What I did to fix this - I registered a free 2Talk account which has voicemail to email with a free 028 number.I used **61*+64285555555# and **62*+64285555555#And then any incoming calls I declined or ignored would go to 2talk and the voicemail would kick in which is then forwarded via email as a WAV file. This has been brilliant as its so much easier to manage voicemail this way.The problem I have is that I've done the same with 2 Degrees and I'm wondering if there is a difference in the divert codes/reasons?Its working if I just leave it ringing (which is 95% of calls) but if I decline it by hitting power twice on my phone its going to 2 Degrees Mobile. When I do a *#61# which displays the current settings its got Voice Call ForwardingWhen UnansweredForwards to +64285555555 Data Call ForwardingWhen UnansweredDisabled Sync Data Circuit Call ForwardingWhen UnansweredForwards to +64285555555 (Don't think this one existed on VF - Is this Voice over Wifi?) Anyone got any idea what Number I use for Declined calls? With Vodafone the notes I made were61 Unanswered Calls62 Out of Coverage or phone off67 When BusyIs this system universal or subject to Vendor customisation? I guess with 2 Degrees supporting Wifi calling when Voda don't thats right away additional call types etc.At this point I'll leave it as is as I rarely decline calls - I tent to just tap volume down so it mutes the ringer and let it ring till it goes to voicemail. On an aside why don't the various vendors offer a voicemail to Email service as its a heck of a lot easier for the client and potentially might be less load on the voicemail platform in general??? Although with vendors that charge for voicemail calls I guess its revenue loss if they forward to email.

2 Degrees Mobile first impressions - Impressed!
Just switched business four mobiles from VF to 2D yesterday and so far I'm very impressed. The switching process was easy - I did have an account manager who looks after one of my clients handle it so can't comment on who it would be to handle otherwise. But we booked the switch for 2pm and by 2:15 all mobiles were over and calling and data working.Had one issue which needs to be mentioned but its common to any number porting between vendors but I wasn't aware of the issue and it can have ramifications. When your number is ported you will probably find that bulk SMS senders will not get through to you - This meant that we couldn't pay a couple of our vendors yesterday as the ASB netcode SMS messages weren't coming through - ASB were useless as they tried and failed to authorise the payments over the phone and just said "It can take up to a month when you switch mobiles" which was pretty unhelpful. As near as I can tell its like DNS Caching, the SMS bulk senders must end up caching the venders associated with numbers to lower the server workloads so you won't get a txt until they clear that cache - Thats just an analogy, I don't know exactly how the tech works. But this can cause some headaches for things like Office 365 2FA - If you have to get into something that needs a 2FA txt you are in trouble - Many offer options for a phone call so there can be work arounds but ASB were useless. By the next morning my Office 365 2FA and the automated SMS needed for iphone to link back to imessage properly are working again, haven't tried the bank yet.On to the massive positives1) Signal is way better at our house - I know this is just blind luck but at the end of the day I've looked at GIS.GEEK.NZ maps and the towers are very similar distances away, this is probably still blind luck with antenna direction and things but we have lived in this Street for 20 years now in two different houses about 200m apart and they have both always been in a dark spot for Vodafone through changes to 3g and upgrades to 4G, one lonely 2D cell tower up the road and I can get 25Mbit down on a speedtest and make calls without standing on one leg and not moving my phone a milometer for the length of the call.2) The Cell tech seems more solid - I regularly ring my retired parents in Auckland on Facetime audio while driving home, I do it practically daily and I use facetime as they put the ipad on speaker and the call is clear and easy to hear, on mobile its no-where near as clear. The entire time I've been doing this for the last few years I've had regular dropouts and 5 - 10 second silences - Its happened on EVERY call usually in the same places, sometimes its as simple as a truck stopped in the lane beside me. Last night I called them using 2D data for the facetime call rather than Vodafone and the call NEVER dropped or had a seconds silence for the entire 25 minute drive. I suspect with vodafone it was handoff from one tower to the next as I would check signal strength and it always reported as solid and it was always in the same spots, sometimes I'd get extra silent periods but I'd always get them in the same spots so to me its got something to do with better handoff technology - Again, I'm not mobile tech geek but its a very simple test and although I've only done it once on the new network it was flawless and its NEVER been flawless on VF, far from it - We've just gotten used to it - Numerous times I'd hear my father saying "he's gone down a hole again, hello, hello" but he couldn't hear me at all.I'm with them on broadband too and its the same there - 2 Degrees innovate, with snap its like it was an ISP run by geeks with a passion and its continued into 2 Degrees ownership. With Vodafone its by the competition to snap up users and cobble the network together and place a bandaid over things that brake. There are still parts of Paradise operating in a basement in Wellington on Vodafone broadband and they complete that purchase over 20 years ago - I had an email issue with a client, it turned out they had an old paradise DNS server in the list for MX lookups and said DNS server had old records for a domain that had been shifted years ago but still had the old VERY stale MX records - Partly our fault for having it in the list of DNS servers but I can't believe the servers are still running if they don't maintain them properly - They don't appear to have merged the networks properly to this day.So if you are thinking of making the switch hopefully this will help - I can't yet comment on what its going to be like out of built up areas and I can imagine I'm going to be roaming on to the VF network on holiday but I can live with that for the improvement in signal where I live and work, the WAYYYY better pricing - After 20 years of my loyalty to VF mobile (wouldn't touch Broadband with a barge pole) they couldn't do ANYTHING to adjust my plan for more data without considerably more spent and some of the data they offered was a 1 year thing so I'd be battling again 12 month later. With 2D I've got unlimited data (OK 40GB but at least then although slowed down at that point essentials like Find-my-iphone and email etc will still work) and the newly announced free roaming to Australia.P.S - I apologise for the blank post before - I started typing this on my Ipad and actually hit GO when I'd only half typed the subject - When back to edit it - Pecked away on screen for 10 minutes and hit update to find someone had already deleted the post so had to come down to a keyboard and start again :)
