Hi,Been with 2 degrees for about 2 months now and have noticed a few things with using the provided modem FritzBox we opted for firstly my laptop which is abit old i admit can only get 2.4GHz on wifi which is fine but its occasionally dropping out, after looking at some settings ive set the channel to a static channel rather than auto changing (ive yet to see if this does anything) but i would think on auto it shouldnt matter, the only way to resolve the issue is restarting the wifi adaptor on the laptop (which works fine but quite annoying given sometimes the frequency of this happening, System log shows its deregistering device so -shrug-But what is more the dropout's happen on my PC on a LAN cable too? not as frequent but can be a pain in the ass at times.running a Frtiz!Box 7490, thinking about buying a thirdparty modem if continues

VDSL renegotiates every 1-3 days
Hi Guys,I've been a 2degrees VDSL customer for almost a year now and I'm wondering if it's normal for a naked VDSL connection to renegotiate every 1 - 3 days?I'm using the supplied Fritzbox 7560 firmware v7.12.An additional question, with the fritzbox should I be using my 2degree broadband login or the supplied SNAP generic account (snap-factory) in the fritzbox.20.12.19 14:51:17 Internet connection established successfully. Fritz box service provider unable to transmit settings message..
Didn't realise this mourning that a forced firmware update was being done. I unplugged the fritz when power light was flashing so hope it was during the reboot phase, didn't know it was because of firmware update so was just trying to restore internet by unplugging and plugging back in.Logs showing after plugged back in:23.12.19 5:11:32 the service provider successfully updated firmware for this device. 23.12.19 5:11:32 The service provider could not transmit any settings to this device: invalid record received. Is the service provider could not transmit settings anything to worry about, the internet and phone seem fine now. Fritz Box 7560. And firmware now is 7.12, thanks.

Is there any way to remove a defunct SIM number from a 2degrees account ...?
Hello there,My old SIM was deactivated because it hadn't been topped-up for over a year, so I bought a new SIM and used the [Add a number] option in my 2degrees Account Profile to include it in my account. That all worked out fine. However, my old number still appears on my account as deactivated, with the Dashboard saying 'no connection', so - seeing as it's now useless - I want to remove it from my account.I've Googled, scanned the forums, rummaged through 2degrees Help Pages, and worked through all the menus on my 2degrees account, but I haven't found a way to remove the old number, so as things stand it looks I'm stuck with it appearing in my account for eternity.Does anyone know of a way to delete dead numbers from a 2degrees account ...?Cheers,Larry

Multiple repeat messages on 2deg
Sorry if this is the wrong place to Post this... I am getting multiple messages from a couple of people. The common thing (apart from me - which of course could be the issue) is coming from Older apple devices to my Android, an fairly late model OPPO of some description, a low end one I can't remember off the top of my head what model (dual SIM from PB if that matters - shouldn't but...) carrier for all is 2deg mobile.

Moving to 2Degrees - BEWARE OF DOUBLE BILLING
I've just moved to 2 Degrees and apart from a couple of issues a quick call to Tech support sorted out within minutes, all is good. HOWEVER I've discovered they didn't tell my old provider I was leaving meaning I get billed for both providers until I cancel the old one. My old provider, Voyager expects notice of one month which is fair enough, and I expected I would pay for a short overlap, but 2 Degrees didn't give any notice, which according to Voyager, other companies usually do. If I'd not called Voyager I could have been paying for months!A quick call to 2 degrees asking if they'd help with this double charged period as it was their problem got a "its all in the terms and conditions we sent you" response, and a look at the solitary email they sent entitled "Welcome here's the keys to 2degrees broadband" made no mention of this.As I don't make a habit of changing my providers several times a year I had no idea this was waiting to hit me in the pocket, and I figured I'd park this here in the hope of others not getting caught out in the same way.

Yay - signed up to 2Degrees Fibre - Now I have to cancel VF
Got 2degrees fibre today. Good job by chorus who put the ONT exactly where I wanted it, and when I wasn't getting the right speeds, a quick call to 2D had the provisioning sorted within 5 mins (inclusive of call waiting times). Loving this. Now I have to try and cancel VF - 20 mins on hold so far. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE LEAVE VF. It's also clearly their way of not letting you. What a contrast between the 2 providers.

Slow download on new fibre (900/400) connection
Gidday Just switched my folks to 2degrees and the change went ever too smoothly. The, minor, thing is the download speed isn't there. I can't test over ethernet as the only machine is 100/100I would call but I don't have authority. Cheers

2degrees fibre port forwarding issues
Hi all,This is a 2degrees and potentially a Chorus question. I am trying to do port forwarding for some services on my 2degrees fibre connection. The firewall i use is OPNsense, which is directly connected to the ONT using pppoe. Needless to say port forwarding is not successful. I have opened up the port as per description of OPNsense and it should be working. The services on that port are working fine too. But I don't even see the port being hit from the outside. So in my investigation i came accross something I can't really explain. The FW says my external WAN IP is 100.66.xxx.xxx but when looking at my external IP from the outside it's 151.210.xxx.xxx. Is that because there's something like Carrier Grade NAT? I presume that is the difference between 2degrees network layer and internet traffic layer but I would have somehow expected this to be 1:1 NAT. So anything going to the 151 address to be directly forwarded to the 100.66 address. So either the traffic isn't getting forwarded or it's hitting the FW as 151.210 and the FW isn't recognising it as legal traffic and dropping it (but not seeing that in the log). So any help here would be greatly appreciated. How do others fare with port forwarding and PPPOE? Any issues? I am just trying to understand where the traffic is being dropped. Thanks Heaps!Oliver

Has anyone managed to get a 3rd party modem/router set up?
I've been trawling through this board and the Snap board trying to find out if any snags were found with using a third party modem/router/modem+router on 2degrees. Has anyone managed?I currently have an Asus AC66U and Draytek Vigor 120 (soon to be 130 for VDSL support for future proofing) and I bridge PPPOE authentication to PPPOA for my current Vodafone connection. On 2degrees I presume the same would be required, and if I did get VDSL the bridging wouldn't be required as I would have PPPOE authentication natively, correct? Can anyone see any issues with my plan? I'm not keen to use the Fritz!box as I run VPNs on my current router and run MerlinWRT so I'm not willing to go to a stock set up.

Twitch at peak times
HiI recently swapped over to 2degrees (900/400) and have noticed for the last couple of days when I try and watch twitch it will buffer and freeze. This generally happens from around 8pm til 10pm, before and after those times its fine (can watch 1080p) I was on Spark previously on a slower connection and never had these issuesCan anyone shed some light on this? Thanks!

FRiTZ 7530 / 7490
Hi all,Recently moved to 2Deg on 900/400 plan. Was informed about stock issues with 7490 and was sent a 7530 router.Experienced some issues with wifi and 2Deg today sent me a 7490 to replace the 7530. Since then I have a new issue which I am currently working through with support staff but keeping things short, leading to my question to the community..Previous hardware supplied by provider I didn't have any wifi issues.I currently have a 7490 and a 7530 in my possession with a directive to return one. Advice from 2degrees is a bit conflicting (my new issue aside) which one am I best to retain out of the two? - the latest from their support is to retain the 7530 (newer and will be more consistent speed wise from wan perspective) USB/DECT ports are not a requirement. Wifi is important and despite it being poor I am reluctant based on previous provided hardware to procure something additional but not ruling it out. Appreciate any thoughts on this.Regards,

2Degrees ADSL Connection - internet stops responding
My mother has just moved into a new house. It's about 10 years old, designed for older people. There are a few phone jacks around, and she's using the one where most likely you'd install a phone for her 2degrees supplied modem/router (a fritzbox of some description, maybe a 7530, it's 2Degrees branded and she received it this past week). It seems to get a good internet connection (10mpbs down), but I found the i Devices (iPhones and iPads, various versions) would take a long time to pull pages via the internet, and disconnect. She is getting fibre installed, but it was pretty hard yesterday to be looking up manuals for setting up things when pages would timeout all the time.My quesiton is, I would have assumed one of these jacks would have a master filter, how would you tell? Of course that's assuming the developers were not morons. I do have a filter I can put on the modem in the the hope that the connection stays up...I've not tried streaming anything to see if it drops a connection once established, or if it's just lookups that seem to fail.Anything else to look at?

Samsung S9 bundled headphones dying
Hi Geekzone, Hoping to engage someone from 2degrees here, my father bought an S9 last year, which came with bundled headphones and wireless charger. He's given me the headphones and they're starting to die on me with a cackle in the left ear piece when moved.I called 2Degrees helpline, they asked me to pop into a store. I went into 2Degrees Riccarton Mall, the dude there honestly could not have been more useless, the moment he realized I wasn't going to buy something he stopped looking at me, and supplied monosyllabic answers. My dad's trying to find the invoice, but no luck so far. Is there anyone able to help please? Thanks, TehGerbil

Changing plan pricing on 2degrees
I am on an open term fibre service with 2degrees and noticed my plan costs $10 more than the same plan costs now to open term customers.Has anyone had experience with calling 2degrees and having the term price to match the existing pricing without being a new customer?

Anyone from 2Degrees able to help please? Lied to by store manager.
Hey team, Need to talk to someone about a CGA claim on a pair of headphones. Went in store already. Manager didn't want to talk to me, and told the staff member to tell me to phone helpline.I called them who were very confused (and apologetic!) said I had to talk to the store manager. Not helpful.I'm happy to go in-guns blazing (I don't like being lied to, or companies shirking the CGA having worked retail myself for 4 years.) but thought someone higher up might be able to step in. Thanks, Tehgerbil

Issues streaming at peak times on 2degrees UFB / Wi-Fi
For two nights in a row now (first time in a year) been getting issues with streaming television after 7.30pm. Television shows are not buffering but freezing. This is on wifi. Also whilst playing wow(ethernet) i am getting high latency on and off...ie it can be fine for a few minutes then spike.I have UFB 100/20 and live in Invercargill. I have to use wifi calling due to bad reception and almost all calls drop out after a time(This has been happening since June.)I have called the tech twice and both times they have changed something in my router to no avail. Today they told me that it probably is congestion in my area and that they have no control over the network if everyone chooses to use it at the same time. They also said they have no fix for it and if I wish to change providers they cannot stop me. Wondering if anyone else within my area is also having thew same issues, as I dont really want to change providers as I have been happy with 2 degrees? Mod Edit MM: edited title for clarity.

Warehouse Mobile - 4g LTE Hotspotting
Ok, this may not be the correct place for this post but there isn't a warehouse mobile forum, and warehouse mobile is 2 degrees network right. That said my issue is related to extremely slow download speeds on the warehouse mobile network. I have a ZTE MF910 4g hotspot (it was originally purchased from Spark but does support 700/900/1800/2100Mhz) which now contains a WH mobile sim card. I use it while I'm out in my car and connect my handset Galaxy S9 to the hotspots wifi network. I get a good signal level -30db on the wifi (2.4g). I've set the apn details as provided by warehouse mobile (essentially apn: warehouse). I'm getting about 10-15Mb UPload but only about .04 - 1Mb DOWNload. I get similar performance if I connect a laptop or other device to the hotspot. If I put the sim card into my phone I get download of around 10Mb which is not awesome but acceptable. I note my upload speed drops down noticeably but that doesn't bother me. Is there some kind of throttling on hotspotting with WH mobile. If it were a signal strength issue or something like that I wouldn't expect to be getting decent upload speeds. Any info or assistance appreciated. Thanks

VPN Issue on FritzBox
A few years ago I set up several VPN users on my FrtizBox 7490 for myself and my family members working in China. It's an IPSec Xauth PSK type VPN. It's a dynamic IP so myfritz.net was used as the dynamic server. We have been using the VPN almost every day since then without any major issues. However, from around 20th January we could not connect to the VPN anymore. Even on my 2degrees mobile phone, I could only connect to the VPN when the phone connected to my home WIFI. When the phone was on cell data it could not connect to the VPN. And my family members in China could not connect to the VPN at all.A weird thing happened the next day. My FritzBox 7490 was suddenly down with the red Info light on. I called 2degrees and they sent me a new router Fritzbox 7530.I set up a VPN user on the 7530 and tried it out on my mobile phone. The same issue happened again. My phone could only be connected to the VPN when my phone was in the home WIFI. So I called 2degree again. It seemed that the staff knew what happened. He put me on to a static IP (203.86.206.xx). After that my phone could connect to the VPN through cell data. But there were some website access issues. I could not connect to some websites, even myfritz.net.I had to call 2degrees again. The staff removed the static IP. I could access those websites after that but could not connect to VPN again. Then I called 2degrees the 4th time. The staff assign me a new static IP (123.255.55.xx). After that my phone has no issue of connecting to the VPN and visiting any websites. Then I set up several VPN users for my family members in China. They said they could connect to the VPN now. However, they could not visit any restricted websites (by Chinese authorities) through the VPN, i.e. google.com, youtube.com etc. But there was no issue to visit unrestricted websites, i.e. trademe.co.nz etc.I do not know what happens there. I do not know why dynamic IP does not work on VPN now. Considering the timing, it is unlikely the GFW in China has been updated to block the IPSec Xauth PSK type VPN. Has 2degrees changed some setting recently made it not working?VPN is a must-have for my family members and me. Could anyone help me to solve this problem please? Many thanks!

Who should I be speaking too?
I've had an iPhone 6Plus (which I purchased through 2degrees) and it's been a happy experience over 5 years, however the time came to upgrade.I phoned 2degrees last Thursday and spoke with a very helpful Business Telephone Account Manager and decided that an iPhone XR would suit my needs. It arrived by overnight courier on Friday.Unfortunately, I'm having an issue with the XR.Everything started well and I came to the point where I put my old 6Plus alongside the XR to transfer data. A message said it could take some time, so I left it while I did a few other things. Now, when I tap to turn it on followed by the swipe-up the white Apple logo (on black background) appears for a while then turns off and that's it!I've also noticed that in charging, that the phone is significantly warmer than the 6Plus.I emailed the Business Telephone Account Manager on Saturday and I guess I'll hear from him tomorrow. In the meantime I was also wondering if there is a department at 2degrees that resolves these sorts of issues that I should be talking to?Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
