Mms never sends even after converting

$

S9+ never able to send MMS images unless it seems photo is tiny.

Take photo try to send mms.

Phone attempts to convert to mms and reduces file size

Message saying failed to send

What I've found is if instead of using gallery to pick the photo instead I go to image shrink app and then choose the photo and set the size to 640 x 480 for example it will send.

Is there any way to configure the stock SMS app to choose a certain shrink size when it handles MMS?

511kb is this one but others have been smaller

2degrees have sent me configuration text and that's been installed fine.

2degrees home phone plus on FreePBX

Hi all

Is anyone currently using FreePBX or other flavour of asterisk with a 2degrees home phone plus line?

I'm after a hand with settings - I suspect it's my registration string but could be other settings. I've tried the settings from some fairly old threads on geekzone without success.

I can connect directly to the 2degrees home phone plus line via a Cisco SPA112, and via Bria so I'm sure my sip password is correct (although it contains some special characters which may be causing issues - I can't change this as the password changer on the 2degrees site is having issues). Also, FreePBX is working fine with my other [2talk] trunk.

I get the following error: Failed to authenticate on REGISTER to '07XXXXXXX@connect2.plus.snap.net.nz'

Current settings:

Register String: 07XXXXXXX@connect2.plus.snap.net.nz:<password>:07XXXXXXX@connect2.plus.snap.net.nz/07XXXXXXX

[Peer]disallow=alltype=friendhost=connect2.plus.snap.net.nzfromdomain=connect2.plus.snap.net.nzusername=07XXXXXXXfromuser=07XXXXXXXmd5secret=<removed>qualify=yescontext=from-trunknat=yesdtmfmode=rfc2833allow=ulaw&alawcanreinvite=noinsecure=invite,port

[User]md5secret=<removed>type=usercontext=from-trunk

Does anyone have any helpful advice (other than don't use asterisk)?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Sunday morning called 2degree after the call extendsive test was done, the tech answered my call have done speed profile repush and also wrote an e-mail for Enable.

Following test was done after the call:-

2 different routers, one self build Xeon server and one EdgeRouter (EdgeRouter was test with old firmware and than update to new one with a reset and reconfiguration done). With both router I have done tests on 4 different PCs with Windows 10 and one of the PC without any Windows 10 update for about 1 year or so, also one of the PC I test with USB boot Linux under Ubuntu.Speed results are all the same across all tests above, from Speedtest.net and www.nperf.com

Called 2degree again in the afternoon, tech said Enable has replied with no problem with the network and maybe an congestion issues, personally do not think this is the case, all speedtest was consistent 450 down and 530 up even from different source.

Before we ended the call tech said he will e-mail a check list that Enable usually want them to do with the Fritzbox but since I don't have one he will e-mail me and for me to run the check from my end.

Just me or are 2degrees DNS servers responding slowly and/or intermittently timing out?

Is there a place I can download the broadband invoice from the website?

New Fibre Connection Help

Hi folks, finally had our fibre installed yesterday but am having problems connecting.

I am running a Netgear Nighthawk X4S trying to connect to 2Degrees fibre.

I can set the modem to PPPoE but when I try to set the VLAN to 10 - as per their instructions it get:

400 Bad Request / This server does not support the operation requested by your client

I have hunted online and this does seem to be a problem with some Netgear modems.

Has anyone else struck this, if so any solutions or should I just bite the bullet and get a new fibre ready router, was planning on getting one anyway so suggestions for that would be appreciated as well.

Cheers.

High pings to Spark/Bigpipe IPs

I've just noticed that I seem to be getting quite high latency to some(?) Spark IPs:

Tracing route to 122-61-211-xxx-adsl.sparkbb.co.nz [122.61.211.xxx]over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 2 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 12.7.69.111.static.snap.net.nz [111.69.7.12] 3 18 ms 18 ms 18 ms 38.27.69.111.static.snap.net.nz [111.69.27.38] 4 151 ms 150 ms 150 ms 39.27.69.111.static.snap.net.nz [111.69.27.39] 5 153 ms 153 ms 155 ms ae9-42.akcr11.global-gateway.net.nz [122.56.127.33] 6 * * 151 ms mdr-ip24-dom.msc.global-gateway.net.nz [122.56.116.10] 7 170 ms 164 ms 165 ms 122-61-208-1-adsl.sparkbb.co.nz [122.61.208.1] 8 171 ms 171 ms 172 ms 122-61-211-xxx-adsl.sparkbb.co.nz [122.61.211.xxx]

That's going from Christchurch (2degrees 200/20 UFB) to Darfield (Bigpipe ADSL), but even if it's going the long way via Auckland its still rather high. Here's what it looks like going the other way:

I don't suppose anyone else is getting funky results to similar IPs - say from 2degrees to 122.61.211.xxx ? I'll likely throw their support an email either this evening or tomorrow, and some more tracerts wouldn't go amiss when I do so.

Can 2degrees mobiles roam onto a Vodafone Sure Signal?

I'm guessing the answer is no, but haven't seen it written down anywhere, so thought I should ask. It would double the number of mobile providers I can consider :)

Fibre (non)Availability

Hello.

Have finally had fibre installed at my property (shared driveway, multiple units). However, it took a neighbour getting it setup via a different ISP to do so.

According to the 2degrees website and phone rep, fibre is not available at this address.

Is there a reason for this? Since paying for VDSL when fibre is available is somewhat annoying.

The site zerohedge.com is being hidden on 2degrees by blocking it at the DNS level. I presume the site is is being blocked because it does not show not enough kindness in our post mosque massacre world.

Does anyone know when it will be restored?

I am about to come off my 1 year contract next month, I will probably roll into another 1 year contract but being able to get the $200 discount that is usually a new sign on bonus would make it definite. How likely do people think this would be? If I can't get this I will probably shop around for a new deal at least to see if I can get a deal that would make it worthwhile changing.

Will moving to a static IP completely eliminate my Fritzbox 3am disconnections?

$

Hi all - I have a 2Degrees fibre connection and am experiencing frequent 3am disconnections and reconnections, with I gather is due to the modem switching IP addresses.

I wouldn't normally care about these issues, except for the fact that my internet connected security camera system often fails to reconnect and needs a manual reboot the next morning to get it online again.

I know that this is common problem with Fritzbox modems, and the time can even be rescheduled, but is it worth moving to a static IP (about $10 extra a month) in order to completely eliminate this switching?

Terrible (Terrible) cell reception!

I live on the North Shore in Birkenhead, and where I am is basically a dead zone.

It looks like I have 2 - 3 bars on 4g, but the phone won't ring, and it goes straight to voicemail.

I do however get txts and slow data (4mbit down and .6 Mbit up according to speedtest) Data is a little unreliable.

Is there anything I can do to improve cell/call reception?

For comparisons sake - Skinny is worse, haven't tried native Spark and Vodafone was a little better, but work has decided 2 degrees.

I am using 100M fibre, recently the network speed is quite slow.

The download speed is normal , but upload speed is only 1Mbps.

The download and upload speed setting on firtz has been set to the maximum.

Anyone knows what's the problem? Thanks

Weird 2degrees data outage?

Mobile data has stopped working for most websites for me. Although the 2degrees website, and the App still work just fine for me over mobile data. Which implies that the fault is something in the core network, rather than a tower near my house. I can still make phone calls. And the App says that my account is fully paid up (so it wont be a user error of not paying the bill). Unable to access anything outside of the 2degrees network.

Anyone else having problems?

Edit.

My 2degrees UFB connection is working just fine. Which implies that that part of their core network is Ok.

Thanks

Roaming onto Vodafone - No data. Any Geo-fencing going on?

Just moved in to new house in Wanaka and despite 2degreess coverage maps saying there is reasonable coverage, 2degrees reception is rubbish and I can only successfully make calls when the phone gives up and swaps to the Vodafone network.

Problem is, I can never get data to work when it falls back to Vodafone at this location. Other parts out of town also have no 2degrees but fall back to Vodafone with data no problems.

2degreess help desk waste of time - Yeah I restarted my phone!

Could there be some sort of geo-fencing so 2degrees subscribers cannot roam on Vodafone where 2degrees should have their own reasonable coverage?

Guess I am probably going to have to switch network, just have a load of data and minutes banked.

Cheers.

2degrees - call quality to Australian mobiles

$

Just wondering if there has been any discussion around the call quality from 2degrees to mobiles in Australia. It's something I've experienced for several months now but haven't quite managed to get to the bottom of. Basically when I call mobiles in Australia on various networks (primarily Vodafone), voice tends to be crackly or break up a bit so the words can be difficult to make out. It's not always that bad and often the issue is only noticeable at my end (other party does not notice any quality issue). However, on occasions, the other party also reports the same issue.

This has been tested with at least 4 different phones and 2 different 2degrees connections.

Is there anything I should be checking or testing from my end?

Thanks.
